DERBY CITY MISSION

Derby City Mission are a Christian charity that support the homeless, poor and needy. In March 2019 Derby City Mission launched Safe Space, a service providing entrenched rough sleepers with a ‘safe space’ to get help and support in the day and to be temporarily accommodated overnight. Scraggy Moo has facilitated creative activities for small groups and worked 1:1 with individuals to enjoy a sense of relaxation and conversation. People have enjoyed creating collages, clay modelling and weaving with textiles.

Clay workshop

Participants explored the property of clay and relaxed as they enjoyed the sensory and tactile experience.

1:1 weaving workshop. The participant was inspired by a resource book to sew flowers together from wool and fabric.
